First Date – NYC Style

At the top of the Rockefeller Center there are three observation levels. 68, 69, and 70. The first of the three is enclosed, and there were a lot of couples there taking in the sights. I was waiting around for the elevator and saw a couple on their first date. I don’t know who they were, but I thought it was a great idea – they just sat in the window sill watching New York go to sleep on a Sunday night while they chatted away.
It was a really cool moment, and even though I didn’t exactly "share it" with them, I was glad to have caught it. This was taken with a Canon 7d and 15-85 hand held at ISO 3200.

9 oz datess
1 cup non fat yogurt
1 cup skim milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups ice cubes
1) Blend until smooth.
2) Enjoy
This "recipe" is from www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/238287 I used 2% milk because that’s what we have in the house. I used 1" of fresh vanilla because that’s how I roll. I used medjool dates because they’re delicious. I smashed the ice cubes in a plastic bag using a cleaver and used an immersion blender to finish.
Now that I’ve got the basics mastered it should be easy to do this again. Mango and banana seem like the most natural next choices but there’s a little voice telling me that avocado would be interesting. Also, I’d like to learn about what spices to use to give it an Indian flavor.
